The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center Reopens Programming

The Jean Lafitte National Historical Park & Preserve has announced the reopening of their regular programming now at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice.

On February 28, 2025, the center will have an official reopening for an afternoon of programs! The schedule of events are as follows:

12pm Kickoff Program

12:30pm Cooking Demonstration (featuring Michelle Brown)

13:20pm Acadian Brown Cotton Table

1:30 Music Performance (featuring Cameron Fontenot)

2 pm Craft Demonstration

About the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center
The Prairie Acadian Cultural Center tells the story of how Acadian exiles from Canada's Nova Scotia settled Louisiana's prairies who developed a distinctive cultural mix of Cajun, Creole, and cowboy. through ranger programs, exhibits, and films. The center features cooking and crafts demonstrations, local musicians, and dancing for all. 

Center admission is free.

Open Hours

The Center will be open Friday, February 28 through Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Beginning Thursday March 6, the Center will be open:

Thursdays 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Fridays and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
